Annual Event Raises Spirits, Scholarships

The 2010 POSSE Benefit Auction & Dinner was a slam dunk success! Held Saturday, April 24, at Gallagher-Iba Arena, this fun-filled evening brought nearly 600 OSU fans together with Cowboy and Cowgirl coaches and student-athletes for a great cause.

Special thanks to OSU basketball legend Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, who served as Honorary Chairman of this year's event. The POSSE also salutes the 2010 Benefit Auction Steering Committee, including co-chairs Dustin and Kristen Holder, and John and Beth Trook ... as well as auctioneer Gregg Pickens, whose outstanding contributions to this year's event helped make it a night to remember.

Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, along with volunteers and item donors from across the country, OSU grossed more than $350,000 for the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund, including $58,500 from a Dutch Auction benefiting the Joe & Connie Mitchell Academic Center. The live auction raised more than $115,000, while silent auction bid boards accounted for more than $80,000. Additional revenue was earned from table and ticket reservations.

The auction is the POSSE's primary fundraising event for the OSU Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. Donations from the auction benefit all of our Cowboys and Cowgirls who are pursuing excellence both on and off the playing field.
